At the London Olympic Games in 2012, New Zealand almost beat Australia on the medal tally with their wonderful 13 medals (6 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze). 2013 will be the fifth AYOF for a team from New Zealand. They have the third largest behind Australia and China, and are expected to be very competitive.

Anna Meares competed at the first Festival in 2001. Following her gold medal in the individual sprint and bronze in the team sprint in London she became Australia’s most successful Olympic cyclist with a total of 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze
